This is SO important! You cannot put your recycling in plastic bags anymore! If you do, they will be treated as trash.
Anne Arundel County Recycling and Waste Reduction Division Remember to place your recyclables loosely in your container and that plastic bags and wrap are no longer accepted in curbside recycling - these items cause machinery failures and hide non-recyclable waste that can increase our contamination rate. Also, the company that accepts this plastic bags and wrap back to create new materials with it wants it returned clean and dry. There's no way to guarantee that in a mix with soda cans, ketchup bottles, and everything else that goes in a recycling bin!
Plastic bags and wrap can be recycled at most grocery stores, big box retailers, and at our County Recycling Centers.
